Piano Version - Spain (Chick Corea)

This is a Full Piano Cover Version of Chick Corea's song Spain. And the reason I am doing this video is to pay tribute Chick since his untimely passing. May he rest in peace. And I wanted to make sure you know that this channel is about exploring music/recording/media and blur the lines between the digitally produced/programmed music and "analog" playing of instruments through traditional musicianship means. Long story short, sometime I use midi sequencing of arrangement, normal tracking of played instruments and/or both. And today this one is purely midi with slight adjustments. I play piano, but I don't consider myself a pianist and definitely up to the caliber to play this piece. Anyways, sit back and I hope you enjoy this classic from a jazz master as much as I did recreating it with just piano for you. *Armando Anthony "Chick" Corea (June 12, 1941 – February 9, 2021) was an American jazz composer, keyboardist, bandleader, and occasional percussionist.[3][4] His compositions "Spain", "500 Miles High", "La Fiesta", "Armando's Rhumba" and "Windows" are widely considered jazz standards.[5] As a member of Miles Davis's band in the late 1960s, he participated in the birth of jazz fusion. In the 1970s he formed Return to Forever.[4] Along with Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner, Keith Jarrett and Bill Evans, he is considered one of the foremost jazz pianists of the post-John Coltrane era.[6]

Corea continued to collaborate frequently while exploring different musical styles throughout the 1980s and 1990s. He won 23 Grammy Awards and was nominated over 60 times.[7]
