Wild Bill Jones is a traditional outlaw blues folk song. I sing and play it on the guitar. This is a murder ballad which some viewers may be sensitive to. Proceed with caution. You may need to take a couple extra strength tylenol after listening to this because it sound like somebody is hammering nails into your head. I`m going to put silk and steel strings on my guitar, I heard those have a mellower tone and also work on playing softer. I`ll leave it posted for now until I can do a better version someday.

Wild Bill Jones - lyrics
Clawhammer Mountain Banjo

As I went out for to take a little walk
I came upon that wild Bill Jones
He`s a walking and talking by my true lovers side
I bid him to leave her alone

He said my age it is twenty-one
Too old to be controlled
I pulled my revolver from my side
And I destroyed that poor boy's soul
(alt break 1)

He reeled and he staggered, and he fell to the ground
And then he gave one dying moan
He wrapped his arms around my true loves neck
Saying honey wont you take me home

So put them handcuffs on me boys
And march me on down to the jail
I have no friends or relations here
No one for to go my bail
(alt break 2)

So pass around that old long necked bottle
And we’ll all go on a spree
For today was the last of that Wild Bill Jones
And tomorrow will be the death of me

They sent me to prison for twenty long years
This poor boy longs to be free
But Wild Bill Jones and that long-necked bottle
Have been the ruin of me
(alt break 1 and 2 outro)
