Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 43-year-old Patrick McAllister for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Felony Criminal Mischief, Tampering in a 2nd Degree Felony, and two counts of Violation of Probation.
On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, MCSO deputies responded to the area of NW 62nd Avenue in reference to a battery that had just occurred. When they arrived on scene, it was discovered that Patrick McAllister had severely injured the victim. McAllister led the victim to believe that he was not at his residence and gave her permission to enter the home.
When she entered, McAllister had hidden behind the front door and ambushed the victim, pushing and yelling at her. He placed his hands around the victim’s throat and strangled her until she lost the ability to breath and also grabbed a knife, threatened her, and struck her in the head with the handle of it. The victim attempted to call 911 to report the crime, but McAllister snatched the phone from her hand and broke it in half. Fortunately, the victim was able to escape and contact law enforcement from a nearby home.
McAllister fled from the residence into the nearby woods, at which time the MCSO K9 Unit, Aviation Unit, and other deputies initiated a search for him. While tracking through the wooded area, K9 Sergeant Hooper’s partner “Robo” tracked McAllister’s scent to his hiding spot under a fallen tree. K9 “Robo” apprehended him and McAllister wasn’t so tough anymore. He was quickly secured in handcuffs; however, he refused to cooperate with deputies to get him out of the woods and seek medical attention for the K9 bite.
Eventually, McAllister was escorted out of the wooded area and transported to a nearby hospital to be medically cleared before taken to the Marion County Jail.
The story doesn’t end there… Deputy Artman was transporting McAllister to the jail when he noticed the smell of something burning. Once he pulled to the side of the roadway and opened the back door, he discovered McAllister had damaged wiring under the floorboard and caused a small fire. McAllister was removed from the patrol car and the fire was extinguished. Deputy Fisher then finished transport to the jail, where he is held without bond.
