Man Arrested 76 Times Charged for Attempted Robbery at Pike Place Market | Seattle RE Podcast

A serious repeat offender was charged with second-degree attempted robbery on Friday after being caught trying to rob a Pike Place Market business.

The suspect, 56-year-old Cedell Steven Scott, has been booked into the King County Jail 76 times in the last 35 years.

According to court documents, the man is charged with attempting to steal more than $8,000 from the safe of a produce stand on Feb. 17.

Scott had grabbed the money while an employee of the stand had stepped away. When he tried to flee, the worker gave chase and grabbed him, yelling for help.

The employee and a security guard were able to detain Scott until the Seattle Police Department arrived and took him into custody.

This was the 10th time he’s been under arrest since 2016, the year of his last King County conviction when he beat a nurse and caused facial contusions.
