When dad was eating yesterday's gift fish this am, mom mostly
just issued fussy protest, but didn't interfere.
but when she starts to rise to roll the eggs
at 6:33, dad starts to move into mantle mode, to assert his claim
we don't often see dad mantling food on the nest.
it's not a full mantle, but you can see him start
to puff up and prepare to emphasize his claim on breakfast.
It was just a small moment, but it does tell us a bit about their interactions, communications and the dominance hierarchy on the nest
(if mom had gone for the fish; he might have put up a bit of a resistance, but likely he would back down in the end).
