The Woods Cross Police Department has released body-worn camera video of a shooting earlier this year that led to criminal charges being filed against a former officer.

The video shows officer Joshua Lindsey, 39, confronting a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Manheim Auto Auction on 500 South on February 7.

Police also released a video from a nearby surveillance camera that also captured the incident.

Lindsey was charged last week with 2 counts of aggravated assault as a result of the shooting.

Neither the driver of the truck nor the passenger were hit by Lindsey's shots. The driver of the truck was arrested after a pursuit and has since pleaded guilty to a theft charge.

Woods Cross Police fired officer Lindsey in July after an interval review of the shooting found it violated department policy. Lindsey has since appealed his termination.

Lindsey is scheduled to make his first court appearance next month.
