Stolen Vehicle Recovery and Multiple Murder Suspects Arrested

On 09/10/2021 at 10:43 PM, while conducting traffic enforcement on Interstate 95 an officer with the Kingsland Police Department observed a black Honda Accord traveling south at 96 mph. As officers attempted to catch up to the vehicle, the vehicle continued to travel at speeds in excess of 120 mph and did not stop.

The vehicle exited the interstate onto Saint Mary’s Road heading east before making an abrupt U-turn on St. Mary's road and headed back west. Officers successfully deployed spike strips on the vehicle which led to the vehicle pulling over.

Officers and a deputy with the Camden County Sheriff’s Office made contact with the individuals inside the vehicle and all were detained. After running the vehicle registration through NCIC/GCIC the vehicle came back stolen out of the Jacksonville Florida.

Officers were able to identify the driver of the vehicle as a 12 year old male out of Duval County and the three other passengers included a 14 and 15 year old male along with a 15 year old female all from Duval County, FL. Upon running the occupants of the vehicle the driver and two of the passengers had active warrants for their arrest for home invasion and 2nd degree murder out of Duval County, Fl. Detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office were contacted and responded to the scene.

All four juveniles were detained and are currently being held at the Regional Youth Detention Facility. The driver is being charged with theft by bringing stolen property into the state, speeding, reckless driving, fleeing and attempting to elude, and fugitive from justice. The other occupants were all charged with theft by receiving stolen property and with fugitive from justice
