Watercolor Portrait Tutorial for Beginners

In this Watercolor Portrait Tutorial for Beginners video, I demonstrate how to paint a portrait in watercolor using a combination of wet-in-wet and wet-on-dry watercolor techniques.

This was painted on some Baohong 'The Master's Choice' 300gsm/140lb, 100% Cotton, Cold Pressed watercolour paper. I was curious to see how this portrait would turn out on this paper so gave it a try with some good results.

I wasn't able to find this specific line of Baohong paper on Amazon, but found the 100% Cotton / Cold Press MEEDAN range which has very similar specs (affiliate links):
