When four U.S senators, such as Sen. Mike Lee, Josh Hawley, and others reached out to Amazon questioning why "When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment" was no longer available on Amazon platforms, including Kindle and Audible, they got a stark message: The book was harmful. Amazon mentioned that it decided not to sell books that “frame LGBTQ issues as a mental illness. Mr. Watson analyzes this new development with the single most important epistemic question: What is knowledge? He then proceeds to examine how this question and knowledge itself are not considered when Amazon restricts its catalogue. But most importantly, he talks about the similarities between Amazon’s ideology and the tenets espoused by proponents of Critical Race Theory.
