Chandler police have released edited body-worn camera video of a shooting where officers fired their weapons at a alleged domestic violence suspect.

The incident happened on Sept. 17 around 7 a.m at a hotel near the Chandler Fashion Center Mall. Police were responding to a report of a woman who had asked to hide in a guest's hotel room. When officers arrived, one guest told police a man was running toward the parking lot.

Body-camera footage shows that man, now identified as 43-year-old Brandon Shaun Aldecoa was seen hiding from an officer in the bed of a pickup truck. At one point, the videos show Aldecoa peeking out with an object. Police say it was a gun in his right hand and that he began shooting as officers were giving him commands.

Aldecoa was taken to the hospital in critical condition but was later released and arrested. The exact charges he's facing have not been released.

Police say both officers were assigned to the Desert Breeze Precinct. One officer has 24 years of service with the department, while another has six. The shooting will be reviewed by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. A separate use-of-force panel is also expected to review the incident.
