From a structural standpoint 40 of this town in Texas budget is dedicated to this police force and you know they did nothing it appears to really or they were not willing to risk anything in trying to stop this guy. Despite having the training the requisite training for this exact situation New York Times reporting like 16 hours ago that they've obtained some documentation that cops in Uvalde had done preparations for a school shooter situation and they still were seemingly wildly inadequate in their response if not negligent. You know and I and I vacillate and again we'll talk more with Heather about this i vacillate going back and forth between you know sort of obviously there should be anger at the police, but there also should be sort of like a broader lesson which is you know the whole notion of like good guys with guns like you know they don't want to get shot either because this guy's holding multiple you know not quite military-grade the ammo sexuals don't need to email in, but enough that you know these weapons intimidate cops. That part of the lesson like you know like there should be anger at the police there should be anger that these types of resources are dedicated to the police despite the fact that there's obvious limitations of what they can do. If they had half that budget and that other half of that budget went into all sorts of better social services maybe that doesn't happen who knows but certainly you if you have that budget and put the rest into social services the town itself would be just in a better place…
