Hula dances are the history & stories of Hawaiians.
Kaulilua is a classic mele hula pahu that takes you around the Kingdom of Kaua’i, from the ‘Aipo swamp on the summit of Wai’ale’ale out to Ka’ula. It is also a love story. This is Hālau Kanikapahuolohiʻau with the late Kumu Hula PŌHAKU NISHIMITSU. Look for me, C-SHELL SURF in the dance lineup.

Watch more epic hula kahiko & ʻauana at the Ho’olaule’a. Celebrate the restoration of the name of “Pā’ula’ula”, the home of King Kaumuali’i in Waimea.

Enjoy the live music, hula, cultural displays & arts & crafts to make or buy. Fun for the entire ʻohana!

Ancestral Stories: Moʻokūʻauhau o ka Lāhui, June 2, 4:30-9pm at the Kaua’i Veterans War Memorial Convention Hall. Tickets are $20. Students K-12 FREE.
