19-year-old Mandrell Harper Jr. arrested who had an active felony warrant

Last night, deputies in Deltona arrested 19-year-old Mandrell Harper Jr. (DOB 8/17/2002), who had an active felony warrant out of the Orange County Sheriff's Office for attempted 2nd degree murder with a firearm and discharging a firearm on school grounds.

Harper is charged with firing a shot in the parking lot of East River High School in Orlando on Monday. No injuries were reported but the shooting prompted a significant law enforcement response and cancellation of school events.

Volusia deputies and members of the VSO District 4 Crime Suppression Team arrested Harper without incident around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in a felony stop in a Dollar Tree parking lot on the 2100 block of Howland Boulevard.
