Three people were taken to the hospital after being rescued from a house fire Thursday morning in Fairfax.

The fire started around 10:50 p.m. on Watterson Road at a home with three people inside.

Officers arriving first on the scene rescued one woman who was confined to a wheelchair from a window of the home.

Body camera footage shows Officer Caleb Kaminsky rescuing the woman from the house, taking her across the street to get medical attention.

Fire crews rescued two others from the home.

All three were taken to the hospital. Officials say two are expected to be released and one remains in critical condition.

"It was a very chaotic scene. It was an active fire and fire personnel were not there yet so officers took action and did what they had to do," Jeff Bronson, Fairfax PD Chief, said.

The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
