CHP hoist a horse rider from Mount Diablo

Yesterday afternoon , CHP H-30 responded to the area of Macaedo Ranch in the San Ramon Valley Fire District, to a report of a rider who fell from a horse.

After a short search, H-30 located the patient on a difficult to access trail. H-30 lowered a crew member to the scene who treated the rider and placed her into rescue harness.

H-30 returned to the scene and hoisted the rider approximately 60 feet to H-30 where she was flown to waiting San Ramon Valley firefighter paramedics.

The rider was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with serious but not life-threatening injuries
