Blockchain smart contracts show the most promise for making Africa a better place to do business by combating corruption, improving the health and education sectors, and safeguarding intellectual property. Governments across Africa must embrace the technology and create regulatory frameworks to manage crypto and related sectors. In 2021, global blockchain firms raised $25.2 billion in investment over 1,247 transactions, representing a 713 percent increase in funding and an 88 percent rise year on year.
