In 1995 as the ink dried on the Dayton Peace accords, a new age in intelligence collection dawned. For the first time in a conflict zone, a company of counterintelligence agents and interrogators would deploy as the main effort of a multi-national combat force.

These assets were scattered across the battlefield supporting, Russians, Pols, Swedes, Americans etc as NATO sought to guarantee the de-escalation and peace in the Bosnia-Herzegovina region of the former Yugoslavian state. Transitioning into to command of D Co was then CPT Erik Kleinsmith.

Under Erik's command were Marine UAV (drone) assets, augmentees from a variety of echelons within the US' European-located intelligence units and about 18 teams of renegades, cowboys, scoundrels and nerds armed with the task of finding bombs, genocidal maniacs, mass graves and danger.

Erik is a frequent contributor to the Break It Down Show. This episode is in support of Mike Guardia's forthcoming book on the same topic. Be sure to check out all of Mike's work on Amazon...he's prolific. Nice episode Pete A Turner, we've been waiting for this one.
