On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, the Atlanta Police Department’s Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit (ACE) was contacted by detectives from NYPD about a suspect wanted in their jurisdiction for murder.

That suspect was tracked by investigators to the Atlanta area. The ACE Unit and the Air Unit began searching for the suspect. Information gathered, directed the officers to a shopping area at 1 Buckhead Loop in NE Atlanta. While officers were actively searching for the suspect, the Aire Unit spotted the suspect vehicle driving in the area.

The Air Unit tracked the suspects and guided the ACE officers to the location where officers were able to make the stop. Officers arrested the suspect and passenger without incident. It was later learned that the suspect’s vehicle had been purchased with a dead person’s identity.
We want to acknowledge the work of the Air Unit and ACE for their quick response, teamwork, keen surveillance skills, and professionalism in handling this incident. Job well done!
