Filmed: 5/14/22. Park entrance is $10 for all day parking, which is automated. This is a great beach but can be a little adventurous depending on the tide. I walked 15.1 miles this day, while also doing some live streams on TikTok and Clapper. If you had to the left there on the map it takes you to a big wide open beach and is a little bit of a giant. If you want to go where Sandollar spit is it takes a while going that way. You can cut across the lagoon but it isn’t for everyone. So plan accordingly as you could be up and to chest deep water if you have to carry items through the lagoon, but it is quite a shortcut. I recommend wearing beach shoes especially with the crabs in the lagoon that can get a little grabby. There are wonderful areas all the way to the north of the island to the pass. The shelling is great here! This beach is the reason we moved to Southwest Florida nine years ago, and always brings back fond memories.
