Lila Rose: “Love the Ones You’re Given"

The world tells us that status, fame, influence, corporate success, etc will bring us happiness. Family life, especially being a mother, is often demeaned as less significant. But all the success in the world doesn’t even come close to the value of a human being — especially the ones we’ve been entrusted with, our family.

I wrote a whole chapter in my book, Fighting for Life, called “Love the Ones You’re Given,” because even more central than my work or pro-life mission is loving my family as an outpouring of my love for God. When I wake up each morning and look into the face of our baby and hear the “good morning mama!” of our son and hug my husband, I remember that my most important role and privilege this side of Heaven is loving them.
