Pouring Bronze Ingots and Building a Backyard Foundry Part 1

In part one of this series I build a very affordable backyard furnace and foundry. This video is more focused on the fundamentals and less about chrome emblem, over priced furnaces and fancy graphite ingot molds you use to make unknown alloys. This first step in pouring an ingot was to make sure the furnace worked correctly and was capable of melting bronze. In Part 2 I'm going to build a burnout furnace/kiln as an addition to this furnace which will give you the ability to do lost wax, lost foam, lost PLA or direct burnout of investment molds or ceramic shells. This is a step further than most people take their hobby casting but this furnace/kiln will give you the ability to make actual bronze sculptures and take the hobby beyond just melting scrap metal down.
