The United States is reportedly preparing to send Harpoon and NSM ships to Ukraine. In the United States, the Biden administration has reportedly planned to send Harpoon and NSM (Naval Strike missile) missiles to Ukraine to help break the Russian blockade in the Black Sea. International news agency Reuters reports that the missiles will be shipped directly to Kiev or transported through a European ally, based on three officials under the Biden administration who have not disclosed their name. Sources saying the Biden administration has taken action have said that Harpoon and NSM could take the blockade of Russian ships. However, this support for Ukraine is concerned that it will destabilize the delicate balance in the Black Sea. Previously, Moscow, Russia's flagship in the Black Sea, was sunk with a limited number of missiles held by the Ukrainian army.
The missiles the Biden administration will send include the Harpoon missile produced by Boeing and the NSM missile produced by Raytheon Technologies. According to Reuters, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski has been negotiating since april for Western supporters to send Harpoon or other missiles with similar capabilities. However, it is stated that Western countries, if Harpoon, given to Ukraine, sinks a Russian ship, are afraid of Moscow's retaliation and therefore avoid being the first nation to provide Kiev with such weapons.
