I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
After spending all day yesterday at the polls for the Pennsylvania primary election, I am more convinced than ever that the primary process is partisan just for the sake of being partisan.
I was surprised by the number of independent voters who showed up just to be turned away because we have closed primaries in Pennsylvania.
I find it odd that the voters' political party affiliation is called out for everyone present to hear.
I still believe that the government should have nothing to do with primaries at all. Primary elections are how private organizations choose their candidates. Government should not be involved until the general elections.
The entire primary process is nothing but a system put in place by Democrats and Republicans to maintain their control and the illusion of a two-party system.
