Alvis 4 is a variant of the South African Mamba APC.

Estonia has sent 7 Alvis 4 vehicles to Ukraine. These vehicles are well-regarded by Estonian soldiers and are the British made varient of the South African Mamba APC. The Alvis 4 was made by the British army which operated 14 of them. 10 were sent to Estonia, who has now donated 7 of its stock to Ukraine. The variant notably served in peace keepign operations in Bosnia. Information of the Alvis four is difficult to find, but it is based on the Mark 2 variant of the Mama—4 wheel drive and designed to undertake a wider variety of roles than the Mk 1 including ambulance, command post, transport and logistics. It can carry up to 9 passengers/

The Mark 2 or Alvis 4 variant is quite lightly armored however. More of a workhorse to carry out various duties rather than enter the combat zone. It’s more typically seen in peacekeeping operations or crowd control work where the threat of rockets and large calibre weapons is minimal. But we saw news yesterday that Ukraine was requesting more logistics vehicles and trucks and I’m certain the Alvis 4 can do a decent job there.
