This song is about a mom who uses prescription drugs to get her through her day. by showing her as a drug abuser. And The Stones could get away with this because their image was that of a glamped, somewhat dangerous rockers Mick Jagger explained: In a funny way." As a songwriter, I didn't want to get into those kinds of topics. I preferred to talk about what "real life" was like and that's what you can find on the album.. There was a lot of humor and some association to earlier styles of music in the song. The Stones were like another band when we wrote it. Keith Richards had some interesting things to say about his guitar work in the film's commentary. He used a 12 string guitar and also played it with a slide which is why it has a different sound. He has also credited Eastern music as an influence which might be the reason why this solo sounds like this. The track needed something that would've given it a "twang". Otherwise, the song was quite vaudeville-ish. There are several things I enjoy about this. First, I play 12 string electric guitar that ties the whole thing together. Than with a bottleneck I put this riff together. That overdubbed acoustic guitar sounds perfect as well!
