NAKBA DAY

On the morning of May 11th, Shireen Abu Akleh, a journalist for Al Jazeera, was shot and killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank while covering an Israeli raid on a refugee camp. As stated by the BBC, "Shireen Abu Akleh was wearing a flak jacket with the word "press" when she was shot "in cold blood" by Israeli troops in Jenin. Akleh's co-worker, journalist Ali Samoudi, was also wounded in the attack. In an interview from his hospital bed, Samoudi said there were no armed Palestinians in the area. So why are journalists being targeted and killed by Israeli forces?

Today, May 15th, the group Within Our Lifetime held a rally in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, to honor Shireen Abu Akleh and the hundreds of Palestinians that Israeli police and military have killed over the 74 years of occupation. And that is what this video is about.
