A march that received it's inspiration from John Philip Sousa's "Anchor and Star", this song takes on different melodies, but retains the same format as the composition it is inspired by. With a strong 1st strain followed by and even stronger second one, "Eagle and Star" has an unusual break just before the Trio in which a Snare Drum solo is played; the Trio is unusual of itself in that instead of having a standard high-winds melody with perhaps an low-wind counter, there is a Trumpet solo (with accompaniment) that is repeated twice, adding in instruments and gradual volume per repetition. Following is a concluding strain that is repeated at a louder volume just like Sousa's "Anchor and Star". Enjoy "Eagle and Star"!
