Rosseau is a picture-perfect town in the District of Parry Sound in the township of Seguin, right beside Muskoka. It sits at the north shore of Lake Rosseau. Arts and crafts and antique shops dot the main road, including the famous Rosseau General Store which has been a presence in the village since the 1800s.

It is just down the road from Muskoka Woods Camp.

The townsfolk and tourists of Rosseau in the late 19th century and early 20th century used to welcome visitors arriving by steamboat along the shore.

They would sing the Rosseau Song (arrival song) as the steamboat approached:

"Oh we'll sing a little song of Rosseau,
It's the best old town that I know..."

Lake Rosseau is connected to Lake Joseph through the narrows at Port Sandfield and the Joseph River. #LakeRosseau is also connected to Lake Muskoka by way of the Indian River + the lock system at Port Carling.

Muskoka Lakes Association is an active community association in the area.

Notable people who have owned cottages on Lake Rosseau: Martin Short, Ted Rogers, Goldie Hawn and William Eli Sanford. The President of the United States, Woodrow Wilson (1913–1921) often vacationed on Lake Rosseau.

The Township of Seguin is the municipality that is the most Southerly in the District of Parry Sound.

The township also includes (along with Rosseau) the communities of: Black Road, Brignall, Dockmure, Dock Siding, Falding, Gordon Bay, Haines Lake, Hamer Bay, Hayes Corners, Holmur, Horseshoe Lake, Humphrey, Lake Joseph, Orrville, Otter Lake, Port Cockburn, Rose Point, Rosseau Road, Seguin Falls, South Parry, Stanley House, Swords and Turtle Lake. Administrative civic offices of Seguin are in Humphrey.
