The Chemical Wedding

One of the primary philosophies taught in the occult mystery schools is the concept of "Equilibrium". They believe that in order for a human being to be truly at peace with oneself, one must achieve the inner balance, or harmony of androgyny (i.e. to embrace the aspects of both male and female within one self's physical being). The current binary state of male and female is thought of as being an "incomplete" or "cursed" state, and only by transcending it can humans evolve to achieve their full potential: to become gods on Earth.
