---- The Story ----
On February the 28th, we had several inches of rainfall on top of the ice and snow melt from this year's winter weather. The #KentuckyRiver flooded all of downtown #Beattyville and got into every business. I did not have insurance, living from paycheck to paycheck, taking on shop rent and utilities and a mortgage payment and utilities for the house left me with no money for insurance. Everything was paid for in my shop, there were no loans on anything.

On the morning of March the 1st, we got the news that the shop was 100% covered in water and 98% of all of the equipment, chairs, supplies, art work, paintings, drawings are all gone. I was only able to save my machines. I fought my way through a pandemic to open my shop in June of 2020 with no help from the government.

#FEMA has been notified of the destruction in Beattyville, but I'm in no condition to apply for a loan for aid to rebuild. My credit isn't great, and there's no way for me to repay the loan back if I do get it. The $15,000 doesn't even cover half of the money that was spent to get everything in my shop to operate, but it's enough to get the bare minimum equipment needed to reopen.

#Art can be replaced. Paintings can be replaced. But the equipment that has been in the water all has to be thrown out. Thank you in advance. I know it's been a tough year for everyone. I'm not asking for a miracle, I'm begging for one. I have nothing left to give and I hate asking for handouts, but I'm lost. I'm broken. Like so many of fellow Beattyville business owners and Beattyville home owners are. And I'm not ok.
