When players get injured on the field, athletic trainers are the ones who determine if treatment is necessary immediately on or off the field. Aside from the trainer, the referee also has a big part to play in deciding if treatment can be made on field as it affects stoppage time. There needs to be a good balance on the player’s welfare and game time interruption. More often than not, how the injured player reacts after the injury will affect the trainer’s decision. In this video, Paris FC’s goalie Nnadozie was apparently so much in pain that she immediately untied her boot laces to ease the pain. She gave the impression that immediate treatment is needed on the field. She was smart in removing her boot and sock. Her body language assured that she will be treated immediately on field, instead of being delayed for treatment on the sidelines.
