The institution of marriage was created by God for a purpose and that purpose was to replenish the earth.

Now the pleasures of sex are a side effect of God-created prowess. God never created sex for the sole purpose of enjoyment because Sexual pleasures feed the flesh and we are told to walk in the spirit.
