WWII memorial demolition plans spark protests in Riga

Several protesters, along with EU MEP Tatiana Zhdanok, were detained at a protest against the demolition of a war memorial to Soviet soldiers in the Latvian capital, Riga, on Friday. Earlier, on May 10, a young man who carried a Russian flag was detained from among those laying flowers at the memorial. We hear from his mother on the man's fate.
