October 1964, General Joseph-Désiré Mobutu organizes spectacles in the Baudouin stadium in Leopoldville to commemorate the Belgo-Congolese victory over the Arab slavers in 1894 after President Nasser of Egypt criticizes then president Moïse #Tshombe for hiring white South African mercenaries to help recapture Stanleyville (current Kisangani) from USSR backed Simba rebels.
