On Thursday, the California State Senate passed SB 866. Senate Bill 866 allows children as young as 12 years old to get vaccinated without their parents' consent. It’s also called the “Teens Choose Vaccines” act. That means that if parents say no, kids can legally go to a free pizza clinic at their school and be bribed into getting the vaccine.

The bill still needs to go through the California State Assembly.

I break down the bill, its author State Sen. Scott Wiener, what it means for parental rights, the bodily autonomy of children, etc. I also spoke to a mom named Dee about the bill. She lives in LA and has a 10-year-old son.
