Beijing residents face mass testing, work from home

The streets in China's capital Beijing were quiet on Friday (May 13) as residents heeded the advice of authorities to work from home to stop the spread of COVID-19. Beijing officials late on Thursday (May 12) denied rumours of sweeping, Shanghai-style lockdown measures, urging people not to panic-buy but to stay at home. They also announced a new round of mass testing across most of the city.
