Leader in its segment with around 70% of the market, the most technological sport utility vehicle manufactured in Brazil and elected in the last four years the average SUV with the highest resale value in the national territory, the Jeep® Compass now arrives with even more performance, design, sophistication and technology. In the year that Jeep celebrates eight decades since it was born in the United States, to remain at the top, the brand bets on innovations in the model that was first presented to the public at the Detroit Auto Show, in the United States, in 2007 and which is the only one to date that has a diesel engine in its segment.

The model has had more than 240 thousand units sold in Brazil since it started being sold here, in 2016, with manufacture at the Jeep Automotive Pole, in Goiana (PE). Exported to 16 countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela), Compass has already reached production of almost 280 thousand cars in about four and a half years.

Performance

New T270 Turbo Flex Engine

With the highest torque and highest power among flex propellants produced in Brazil, in addition to low fuel consumption and reduced level of pollutant emissions, the T270 debuts in the Jeep range in the New Compass always integrated with the six-speed automatic transmission. With a maximum power of 185 hp at 5,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 270 Nm at 1,750 rpm, the propellant does 0 to 100 km / h in just 8.8 seconds and has an A consumption score by Inmetro. It has a compression ratio of 10.5: 1, aluminum block and direct fuel injection.

The T270 brings the third generation of MultiAir, which has even more flexible and fuel efficient valve control in high load conditions, when vehicle performance is most desired. The electro-hydraulic MultiAir system allows flexible control of the duration and elevation of the intake valves, in addition to the control of the engine load without generating pumping losses and contributing to reduce the fuel consumption of the engine in low and medium load operations. The MultiAir III added the possibility to vary the effective compression ratio of the engine, keeping the tendency to detonation under control regardless of the fuel used. Thus, as a result, more fuel efficiency is achieved under high load conditions, when vehicle performance is desired.

The new T270 also features an advanced low-inertial supercharging system that guarantees faster propeller response, lower fuel consumption, more reliability and improved handling. Another highlight of the system is the angle of the fuel injectors. Positioned almost vertically at 23 degrees, emissions are reduced thanks to less contact between the spray and the cylinder wall, favoring the formation of a mixture. The direction and type of the spray, combined with the high turbulence flow created by the optimized design of the head suction ducts (two separated by cylinder), provide excellent combustion speed and stability.
