Word 1
JESUS, THE MESSIAH & ETERNAL KING Mathew 1:18-20
• Matt. 1:18 Jewish marriage involved three basic steps. First, the two families agreed to the union. Second, a public announcement was made. At this point, the couple was "engaged." This was similar to engagement today except that their relationship could be broken only through death or divorce (even though sexual relations were not yet permitted). Third, the couple was married and began living together. Because Mary and Joseph were engaged, Mary's apparent unfaithfulness carried a severe social stigma. According to Jewish civil law, Joseph had a right to divorce her, and the Jewish authorities could have had her stoned to death. The extraordinary happened within ordinary circumstances, yet God was glorified.

JESUS, THE MESSIAH & ETERNAL KING Mathew 1:18-20
• Matt. 1:19 Joseph was faced with a difficult choice after discovering that Mary was pregnant. Perhaps Joseph thought he had only two options: divorce Mary quietly or have her stoned. But God gave a third option—marry her. In view of the circumstances, this had not occurred to Joseph. But God often shows us that there are more options available than we think. Although Joseph seemed to be doing the right thing by breaking the engagement, only God's guidance helped him make the best decision. But that did not make it an easy decision. Consenting to marry Mary surely cast doubt on his own innocence regarding the pregnancy, as well as leaving them both with a social stigma they would carry for the rest of their lives. Yet Joseph chose to obey the angel's command. When our decisions affect the lives of others, we must always seek God's wisdom and then be willing to follow through no matter how difficult it may be.

Word 3
JESUS, THE MESSIAH & ETERNAL KING Mathew 1:18-20
• Matt. 1:20 The angel declared to Joseph that Mary's child was conceived by the Holy Spirit and would be a son. This reveals an important truth about Jesus—he is both God and human. The infinite, unlimited God took on the limitations of humanity so he could live and die for the salvation of all who would believe in him. Just like heaven interrupted Joseph and Mary' s program for His glory, let's allow God to interrupt our personal programs for His glory.

Personal Supplication
Father in the name of Jesus, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in my life for Your glory, whether convenient or not.
Matt 6:10
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Daily Protection Covenant Declaration
Father in the name of Jesus, empower me in these three days marathon fasting and prayer on the prayer altar. May all my desires for this quarter and year be granted in Jesus' name!
2 Chr. 7:14
14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Because I have made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, my habitation;
There shall no evil befall me neither shall any plague come nigh my dwelling.
For God shall give his angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways.
They shall bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone.
I shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt I trample under feet.
Because I have set my love upon God, therefore will He deliver me: He will set me on high, because I have known His name.
I shall call upon Him, and He will answer me: He will be with me in trouble; He will deliver me, and honour me.

With long life will God satisfy me, and shew me His salvation.
So shall it be for me and my household today and forever, Amen and Amen!

JESUS IS LORD!
