Rising Thunder Combined Hellfire Missile Shoot

December 6, 2021 - Aviators assigned to 1st Battle Helicopter Unit, Japanese Ground Self Defense Force, and 1-229th Attack Battalion, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade conduct a combined Hellfire missile shoots at Yakima Training Center, Wash. The helicopters fired on targets designated by a combined American and Japanese observation post on the ground. The units are conducting a combined arms training exercise with units from the 7th Infantry Division as part of Exercise Rising Thunder 21.
