Ayurvedic Fitness | Squats and Pushups | The Ten Stones™ Series

This is going to be the Ten Stones™ Ayurvedic workout, squats and pushups.

Why Ten Stones™? Well, we have found through the years of training people (full-time since 1999), that you really don’t need more than half an hour for effective training. And the Ten Stones™ make it very, very easy for you to stay focused so you can complete your training.

This particular workout is going to be the Ten Stones™ | Pushups and Squats.

Tim is going to be using 10 stones for counting. We have found that 10 stones is the magic number to keep you motivated. You don’t have to complete all of the stones at once. You can do them throughout the day but they are there as a really good reminder.

And again if you do this workout effectively, you don’t need more than half an hour and depending on your circumstances you don’t even have to do the whole thing every day.

The Ten Stones™ | Squats and Pushups Ayurvedic workout:

20 Squats and 10 Pushups constitute 1 round.

For squats, you can be doing:

- squats with arms forward, parallel to the ground

- what we call dancing bear squats, hands stay at the center of the chest

- prayer squats, where you get the extension

- prisoner squats with arms behind your head

It’s very important to keep the feet further than hip distance apart. Your knees can go way past your toes. (Think about every time you sit on the toilet, your knees go way past the toes.)

Make sure that your knees stay in line with the toes and that they are not rolling in or out. If they are rolling in, it means that you are not firing enough glutes.

For pushups. you can be doing:

- pushups on the wall which is the easiest version

- pushups on the floor with the knees on the ground, as long as the knees are behind your hips. You can have the elbows turn out or stay in, military style.

- the more challenging version which is pushups with knees off the floor. And again, you can have the elbows turn out or stay in, military style.

So Tim completed one round, i.e. one stone which is 20 squats and 10 pushups. He’s got 9 more stones to complete.
