I AM LEGEND - Walk In The Light of Jesus Christ! Will Smith in his role demonstrates the Kingdom reality of lighting up the darkness with the Light of Jesus Christ.

The whole film is predicated on the words “LIGHT UP THE DARKNESS.”

The dark seekers die in the light.
The film uses music as a means for love to conquer hate.
The hero searches for a way for life to defeat death.

I AM LEGEND is a visual metaphor for Christianity in that:
Death dwells in darkness and we are saved from death, if we walk in the light as He is in the Light.

but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

I AM LEGEND is about a brilliant scientist who survives a plague that has affected all of humanity, transforming those infected into bloodthirsty dark-seekers.
A woman finds him and tells about a far-off colony they are traveling to where the survivors can be safe from these demon-like beings.
The scientist slowly comes to faith in God and the colony, until he finally discovers that the cure is in the blood.

Sound familiar?

This film is absolutely filled with IMAGERY and SYMBOLISM of Christ.

Genesis 1:3 “Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.”
There are four kinds of light identified in the Bible - cosmic (Genesis 1:3–5), natural (Judges 19:26), miraculous (Acts 12:7), and artificial (Acts 16:29).
Light is descriptive of God's nature (1 John 1:5), word (Psalm 43:3), wisdom (Daniel 2:22), favor (Psalm 4:6) and guidance Psalm 78:14; 89:15).

But what is light?
We can see it. But We can’t taste it or smell it.
And we definitely can’t move as fast as it.
So what is light? Like what is it actually?
The Hebrew and Greek terms refer to that which emanates from a light-giving body such as a lamp (Jer 25:10) or the sun.(Isa 5:20; Joh 11:10, 11)
Light is a combination of colors, with each color having a different wavelength. The color of an object is determined by the light reflected from its surface.

God has different reasons for every type of light:

Sun, moon, and stars as lights in the sky to differentiate the seasons.
Fire by night to guide the Israelites through the darkness.
Lampstand for the priests in the Holy place.
Transfiguration to display the holiness of Christ.
And on and on and on…
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light.
2 Samuel 22:29. “For You are my lamp, O Lord; And the Lord illumines my darkness.
1 john 2 “the darkness is passing away and the true Light is already shining.
Luke 11:33-36. "No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.
2 Corinthians 4:6 For God said, “Let light shine out of the darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
But how is God’s word light?

Let’s take the 10 commandments for an example of how to walk in the light. Imagine a world where everyone obeyed the words “do not murder.”
Literally, every single person did not murder. There was never another murder ever to be heard of again in all of future history because everyone is walking in the light of that command.
And so “do not murder” becomes one light beam color on the entire spectrum of God’s words.
What about lying? Imagine a world where no politicians lie, no big corporations lie, no lawyers lie, no ex girlfriends lie. No lies whatsoever. Not even a little white lie. Everyone is always 100% sincere and 100% honest. Seems impossible, right?

By walking in the light, we walk in all of the ways of our Creator and therefore display the entire spectrum of colors of His Kingdom of light.

But if we walk in darkness, we are like the blind leading the blind.
On a serious note, Satan apparently has the capability to disguise himself as an angel of light.

All the more reason for us to truly and intimately know the Word of God and follow in it.

Otherwise, we walk in darkness.

2 Corinthians 4:4 the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
John 3:20-21 "For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
John 11:9-10. Jesus answered, "But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”
