Home Depot Shoplifting Ends Up With Police and Suspect Being Shot - Giving Up or Stay In Fight?

On March 25, 2021, Chicago police officers responded to a call of shots fired with injuries at "Home Depot" near 4500 S. Western Blvd. Two officers observed the 18-year-old suspect fleeing the scene of the incident and began a foot pursuit. As the two officers pursued, in an attempt to apprehend the suspect, he fired his weapon, striking one of the officers and continued firing at other responding officers. Officers continued to pursue the suspect, during which time he, again, fired at officers, which resulted in two officers returning fire, fatally wounding the suspect.
