Larry is the owner of a ranch homesteaded by his father in the early 1900's. Three weeks ago a wildcat oil well started a boom town.

"Faith in God is an essential part of the spirit of America. It's written in our Declaration of Independence. You will find it in the Presidential messages from Washington down. It's part of our heritage of Life and Liberty and Happiness and part of our heritage of tolerance and trust in our fellow men. It's the spirit on which our nation was founded and developed."

"Today you and I and many millions of us can express our trust in God, our thanks to God by simply lifting our minds and hearts in Prayer. When families pray, when parents and children gather together and lift up their simple words to Him who is the Father of us all there is happiness and peace and God's wonderful contentment in our home. That's why Family Theater is dedicated to your home - dedicated to the hope that in all homes of America and all the homes of the world there will be peaceful, prayerful and happy families"

Family Theater is a dramatic anthology radio show which aired on the Mutual Broadcasting System in the United States from February 13, 1947, to September 11, 1957

The show was produced by Family Theater Productions, a film and radio studio extension of the Family Rosary Crusade founded by the Holy Cross Priest, Father Patrick Peyton, CSC, as a way to promote family prayer. The motto of Holy Cross Family Ministries is "The family that prays together stays together."

The program had no commercial sponsor, yet Father Peyton arranged for many of Hollywood's stars in film and radio at the time to appear. Throughout its ten-year run, well-known actors and actresses, including James Stewart, Gregory Peck, Dennis Morgan, Irene Dunne, Robert Mitchum, Henry Fonda, Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Shirley Temple, Natalie Wood, Barbara Whiting Smith, Raymond Burr, Jane Wyatt, Charlton Heston, Lizabeth Scott, Bing Crosby, Jack Benny, Gene Kelly, Kate Smith, William Shatner, and Chuck Connors, appeared as announcers, narrators, or stars.
