Daniel Smith Watercolor Ground Review | Demonstrations with 5 Different Surfaces

@DANIEL SMITH In this video, I'll be reviewing Daniel Smith's Transparent Watercolor Ground. Watercolor ground allows you to turn any surface into a paintable surface for watercolours. I've always been interested to try it out and see how it compares to normal watercolour paper.

We'll be testing it on Wood, Glass, Cardboard, Paper, and Plastic. The video is fairly long, as I'll be going through some demonstrations of the application and some simple paintings/techniques to see how they look on the various surfaces.

There are two ways to apply it - straight from the bottle with with a brush, or thinning it out with 10% water. I go through both forms of application to compare the results. I didn't see much difference overall, but found it easier to apply the emulsion with 10% water.
