In this video we explore two beaches and the town of Ao Nang in Krabi. The beaches we walk are Ao Nang and Nopparat Thara Beach.

Ao Nang is a very popular area with countless outdoor activities. The beach is just one of the many things to do that include scuba, swimming, kayaking, rock climbing and so much more.

We start the video with walking on Nopparat Thara Beach. The Nopparat Thara Beach is located on the north end of Ao Nang. The beach is a 4 kilometers long stretch of sand and about 20 meters wide at low tide. The sand is a little bit more rocky since it’s intermingled with shells and corals. It’s especially popular for picnicking with the local Thais.

At one end of the beach you can find the small island of Koh Khao Pak Klong. At low tide you can walk from the Nopparat Thara Beach through the shallow water to the island.

After a short walk on this beach I show you the beach road and what to expect if you stay in this area. There is an increasing number of resorts and shopping in this area. There is also a new night market with several bars and pubs.

After that we continue our walk on the areas most popular beach, Ao Nang Beach. The 1 kilometer long Ao Nang Beach is the main beach of the resort town of Ao Nang. It can be reached by stairs along the promenade and is particularly well visited at sunset.

At the eastern end of the beach there are restaurants, bars and massage parlors as well some trees which provide shadow. That’s why most of the Ao Nang Beach visitors stay here.
The sand of Ao Nang Beach is a little bit rougher and the water not really clear but it’s still good for a swim.

The last part of the video is a short walk around the beach road behind this beach allowing you to see some of the highlights of places to shop or eat.

Ao Nang is one of my favorite places to stay in Thailand. It has so much to offer to any visitor from the beaches to the natural beauty. Well worth a visit.
