Could recent findings that imply that Denisovans, one of our ancient near-human cousins, created stone jewelry tell us something deeper about our recent past?

How old is civilization, really, if it can be categorized in the absence of the written word?

In this video we tackle this question. Could it be that the Denisovans were far more advanced than we give them credit for? Does this advancement inevitably extend to other cousins of homo-sapiens, such as the Neanderthal man? How advanced WAS Denisovan civilization, and for how long did it exist?

But ultimate, could the discovery of Denisovan jewelry that is made using techniques typically attributed to anatomically modern humans, be an indicator of their level of advancement?

Let's take a look.
