JEEP RENEGADE 2022 SPORT 1.3 turbo engine with 183 hp a Small SUV with big personality & capability
The SUV market in Brazil is divided into before and after the Jeep® Renegade, a model that quickly became a symbol and object of consumer desire. Since 2015, the first Jeep manufactured at the Industrial Pole of Goiana (PE) has been evolving and reaches the 2022 line more modern, capable and efficient than ever. The New Jeep Renegade combines an updated look inside and outside the cabin with advanced technologies, more safety and surprising performance, thanks to the new T270 engine up to 185 hp. All this, of course, without giving up the off-road capability that is a hallmark of all Jeeps.
These desires guided the creation of the New Jeep Renegade, which, for the first time, offers only supercharged engines in its range. The T270 with up to 185 hp is the most advanced and powerful turbo flex in Brazil and has been proving its efficiency in the new Jeep Compass and Commander. Now, the T270 will be available with two types of traction: 4x2 with 6-speed automatic transmission and - the big news - 4x4 with reduced and 9-speed transmission. The New Jeep Renegade also marks the arrival of the S Series version, unprecedented in the Renegade lineup and which completes the model's top range along with the Trailhawk.
The safety of the Small Wide platform was even greater with the six airbags as standard, reaching seven in the 4x4 versions. The New Renegade also has the widest range of standard active safety equipment since the Sport version. These new features are completed by a style update. On the outside, the New Renegade brings changes in the design of the front and rear, with new front and rear bumpers, in addition to a new grille design and new Full LED headlights and lanterns. The model also brings changes on the side with new wheels and mirrors, in addition to news in the interior that brings together much more technology.
All versions of the new Renegade are equipped with the T270 engine with global technology and produced in Brazil, already known to customers of Compass and Commander. With low CO2 emissions, the engine reaches 180 hp with gasoline and 185 hp with ethanol, making it the most powerful and modern turbo flex engine manufactured in Brazil. Its torque of 270 Nm (with any fuel) is available from 1,750 rpm, allowing more performance and efficiency both on asphalt and on land.
The New Jeep Renegade has a six-speed automatic transmission in versions with 4x2 traction and a nine-speed automatic gearbox in 4x4 traction with differential lock. This allows consumers to choose the best option according to their use while democratizing access to SUVs with four-wheel drive.
Now even more accessible, the 4x4 versions have up to five driving modes, which adjust the parameters of the engine, gearbox and rear differential lock according to the type of floor and the driver's desire. They are: Auto (Automatic), Sport (Sport), Snow (Snow, recommended for very slippery floors), Sand/Mud (Sand/Mud) and Rock (Stone) - the latter is exclusive to the Trailhawk version. The off-road package is complemented by 4WD Low, which prioritizes the shortest automatic gearbox ratios, 4WD Lock, which locks the rear differential, and Hill Descent Control, capable of automatically maintaining vehicle speed even on descents. steep.
However, consumers who opt for the front-wheel drive versions of the New Renegade will not need to be restricted to city streets or paved roads. The model now comes standard with Jeep Traction Control +, a traction control system that works in conditions where the vehicle has a low-grip floor with the ground on one of the wheels. It applies braking torque to the slipping wheel and transfers the torque to another wheel that is slipping.
