Happy birthday Steve Winwood!

Ranking up with the greatest singers in all of classic rock, the multi-instrumentalist has shown no note or genre of music is out of his range. Though he's well known for his time as a teenager in the Spencer Davis group playing organ and singing the undisputed classic "Gimme Some Lovin'" as well as the 1986 #1 pop hit "Higher Love", his time in his band Traffic, for me, has his most definitive songs. Each album is vastly different from each other covering the genres of folk, psychedelia, blues, R&B, jazz, and world percussion. I've always loved the song "Dear Mr. Fantasy" as a love letter to music and musicians that transcend reality. Check out the version on the 2009 'Live from Madison Square Garden' album he did with Eric Clapton to show rock and roll has a tough time aging.
