traditional english bread pudding

3 c bread cubes (Just tear up bread, no need to buy bread cubes)
2 1/4 c milk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c(I prefer)brown sugar but if ya like super sweet than 3⁄4 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 tsp salt
very optional 1/2 c raisins

DIRECTIONS
Place bread cubes in a greased 9x9 inch baking dish.
Combine remaining ingredients.
Using a rubber spatula, gently press down on the bread so all of it gets soaked into the egg mixture.
Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight.
preheat oven 360 degrees than uncover it and
Place in oven and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes
or until knife comes out clean.

caramel sauce
1 packed cup brown sugar
1/2 c half-and-half
4 TBSP butter
Pinch of salt
1 TBSP vanilla extract

Mix the brown sugar, half-and-half, butter and salt in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
Cook while whisking gently for 5 to 7 minutes, until it gets thicker.
Add the vanilla and cook another minute to thicken further.
Turn off the heat, cool slightly and pour the sauce over ya bread pudding or (save later)(into a jar. Refrigerate until cold.)

Or make it even easier(less ingredient
1 c Sugar
6 TBSP Salted Butter (cubed, room temperature)
1/2 c Heavy Whipping Cream (room temperature)

Cook while whisking gently for 5 to 7 minutes, until it gets thicker.
Add the vanilla and cook another minute to thicken further.
Turn off the heat, cool slightly and pour the sauce over ya bread pudding or (save later)(into a jar. Refrigerate until cold.)
