Protecting Work Using Secret Watermarks in GIMP (Tutorial) - Jody Bruchon

I came up with a technique for hiding an identifying watermark in a photo that is almost completely invisible but is also easily revealed with some sharpening. You can use this to prove that an image is yours. This method of watermarking should survive all but the most severe resizing, editing, and compression.
